Heritage Walnut
Heritage Walnut
Bastogne Walnut is a cross of native California Claro Walnut and English Walnut. Today most Bastogne trees are ornimental, being found along roads and boulevards and in parks and yards. The blanks are quite hard and rather heavy. It takes characteristics from both parents, being bright in color, often including fiddle back figure. It is firm and dense wood that is ideal when durability is a top priority. The wood finishes and checkers very well. I predict in very short order, Bastogne will be the rarest of the walnuts. This photos are notional, email or call for specific requirements and blank photos.
